Young Members Area

The CAMRA Young Members Group (YMG) was formed in 2000 by the Membership Task Group to focus on ways to attract, activate and retain young people (18 – 30 year olds) as members of CAMRA and to encourage the drinking of Real Ale by young people. Young Members are classed as 18 – 30 year olds; you only receive a discounted membership rate if you’re under 26.

We also encourage Young Members and Young People to join in with the numerous social and campaigning activities which are organised nationwide, as well as getting Young Members to become more involved in CAMRA at local, regional and national levels.

The YMG has a committee, which is made up of younger members. The Young Members Group Committee (YMGC) has a responsibility to reflect the interests of all Young Members.

As well as a YMGC, the Young Members Group network also extends to having Regional Young Persons Membership Co-ordinators (RYPMCs) and Branch Young Members Contacts (BYMCs) who organise events in the CAMRA Regions and Branches.
