Created October before last when Border brewery, formed in 1992, re-located from Tweedmouth, Northumberland and took over the premises of Four Rivers brewery which closed last year. The Hadrian
connection arises because Four Rivers brewery was the Hadrian brewery between 1991-97 and its founder was the former Four Rivers brewer. At the moment the twenty barrel plant produces ten different real ales
from the portfolios of both breweries. Although around 150 pubs are supplied not many are on Tyneside.
Hadrian Gladiator Bitter (4.0%),
Hadrian Centurion Best Bitter (4.5%).
Border Farne Island Pale Ale(4.0%),
Border Rampart (4.8%).
As a guest a beer could be available in Sir John Fitzgerald pubs
