Wylam Brewery was established in 2000by John Boyle and Robin Leighton on a farm at Heddon on the Wall. The brewery has grown from strength to strength winning awards for quality and flavour from festivals around the UK. In August 2006 capacity was tripled with the installation of a new 20 barrel plant in new premises at the farm. Only the finest malted barley, hops, water, and yeast in the beer production. No additives, sugars, extracts etc. The water is is treated to give it the mineral characteristics of Burton on Trent water which produces the highest quality ales.

Wylam ales are available in many pubs in the region. Bottled beers are also available
