The brewery was founded in 2003 by Steven Urwin on the family farm of Matfen High House. Located in a converted grain store, the brewery and offices provide a modern and efficient business base with its roots very much grounded in history and tradition.

After the beers initial launch at the 2003 Tyneside Beer Festival, demand and praise for these traditional ales throughout the region has been very strong indeed - proof if ever it were needed, that the true beer enthusiast appreciates quality above all else.

Today, High House Farm Brewery has both the capacity, ability and enthusiasm to take its beers to a wider appreciative audience - Don't hesitate to contact us if you would like to discuss stocking any of our range of fine ales.

Beers are bottled on a small bottling plant and are available in outlets throughout the area

Steven and Sally have now openend a brewery visitor centre with a bar, café, shop and a function room.

Steven carries out brewery tours for small and large groups. These involve a short talk on the history of the brewery and an explanation of the brewery process with a tour around the brewery, and a tasting session of all three beers. A buffet lunch or evening meal can also be arranged.

To book a brewery tour please ring Steven or Sally Urwin on 01661 886192 or    07884 180195 or email sally@highhousefarmbrewery.co.uk
